Robert and Katherine Skinner lost their home to a fire the morning of December 27th while they were away in Gatlinburg. Robert is a paramedic with Williamson Medical Center and Katherine is an RN with Maury Regional Medical Center. They have two daughters ages 4 & 12 and they have custody of their 17-year-old nephew.

WKRN reports:

“A neighbor spotted flames around 3 a.m. Sunday at the home located in the 2000-block of Baptist Church Road in Culleoka and called 911. While firefighters were able to save part of the structure, practically everything inside the home was destroyed, including the children’s’ Christmas gifts. The fire is under investigation and the cause is not yet known.”

The Skinner’s have helped so many people that the community and other emergency workers immediately stepped forward to help.

Richard Schatz, the district chief with the Maury County Fire Department and Williamson Medical Center paramedics Shannon Lankford and Debra Kolak, created an account on crowdrise.com with a goal of $5,000. As of the writing of this story, a little over $3,000 has been raised. Click here to help the Skinner family.
