Williamson County has hired Stephen Martini as the new Emergency Communications Director. In this role, Martini will develop short and long term plans and strategies for Enhanced 9-1-1, direct and coordinate activities of staff engaged in receiving emergency and non-emergency calls and the dispatching of such calls to pertinent agencies.

Williamson County Mayor, Rogers Anderson was quoted as saying, “While evaluating and reviewing his specific knowledge, background, skills and experience, Stephen has the skills for the position. Having played a role in a similar transition period of systems consolidation, Stephen will help us to take Williamson County’s Emergency Communications District to the next level.”

Martini brings 12 years of experience in emergency communications. Most recently, he served as the City of Brentwood Emergency Communications Supervisor in Brentwood, TN, where he oversaw daily operations of the emergency communications center including shift scheduling and payroll for eleven public safety telecommunicators. He has experience in all facets of emergency communications as he has worked as a telecommunicator for Chattanooga Police and Fire Departments and Training and Quality Assurance Specialist for Hamilton County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications District.

In addition to his experience as a career emergency communicator, Martini is a National Emergency Number Association (NENA) certified communications center manager and Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Tennessee Chapter President and National Adjunct Instructor.

“I’m very excited to have Stephen as part of our public safety team. I have complete confidence in Stephen’s leadership and knowledge that he can champion those challenges to provide the best 911 and emergency communications services to the public and the emergency responders,” said Office of Public Safety Director Bill Jorgensen.

Martini will start with Williamson County on Monday, June 27, 2016.
