Williamson County CASA Raises over $100,000

Williamson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) hosted its 3rd Annual “Voices for Children” fundraiser at the Franklin Theatre on May 21st. This event is the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year and it brought in $108,528 through ticket sales, corporate sponsorships and auction proceeds with $94,000 going straight towards program support. This is a 40 percent increase from last year’s event.

“We are thrilled that the community responded in such a way that we broke the $100,00 barrier. That’s amazing,” said Danielle McMorran, WCCASA Director of Public Relations and Development. “Each contribution we receive goes to CASA’s vision of providing every abused and neglected child a safe and permanent home—which directly effects this community’s future.”

The non-profit organization’s yearly “Voices for Children” benefit featured an evening with the Music City Hit-Makers, a one-of-a-kind “where song meets symphony” music event with Nashville’s hottest songwriters Brett James, Jessi Alexander and Kyle Jacobs. ACM Award-winner Charles Judge arranged performances so that eight Nashville Studio Symphony musicians accompanied each song.

Participants kicked the evening off at a cocktail hour, with food and drink provided by Strategic Hospitality, American Born Moonshine, and Kevin and Sam Foley. A silent auction, as well as a live auction held prior to the musical performance, also contributed to raised monies.

Williamson County CASA is an organization that advocates for the best interests of children in the judicial system, and works with volunteers to provide a permanent home for each one. The non-profit independently trains its volunteer members to investigate each situation, and report findings to the court
