Williamson College and WCSO Partner to Help Inmates Find Employment

In Tennessee, 1 in every 38 adults are in the prison system with the cost to state tax payers of $23,662 per prisoner per year. The Williamson County jail houses approximately 450 inmates. These statistics have lead Williamson College and The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office to create THE PROMISE, a program that will prepare inmates for meaningful employment once they are released from prison.

Williamson College LogoThrough quality instruction, Williamson College promises to provide solid education. In return, the students will make a promise of commitment and loyalty, to their communities, to their employers and to themselves.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8th, Williamson College along with local film producer, David Kiern, will screen the documentary “Living Hope” at the Thoroughbred Theatre in Cool Springs to benefit this new campaign.

“Living Hope” is the story of three extraordinary individuals who have devoted their lives to serving the poor in South Africa.  Watch the movie trailer HERE.
