Will You Have Spring Flare?

We are  talking about what type of jeans designers will be offering this spring.  Actually over the last few season, we have seen  a slight departure from the tight skinny jeans to more of the straight jean.  This spring,  it will be more of a flare  jean that will be the go to pant of the season.  And color matters as the white and pale blue washes are trending.   Grab your denim dress and skirt as that will be a “hot” item for spring and summer as well.

At Who What Wear, we found some advice from top jean designers about the new trend of spring.

”Flares and straight wide legs, seen all over the runways this season, are definitely the new silhouettes going forward.” – Tim Kaeding, Co-Founder and Designer of MOTHER

“The one style you must go out and buy for spring is flares. It’s my favorite silhouette to update your spring wardrobe. Any kind of flare will do—high-rise, mid-rise, or trousers. It’s best to have a couple of different inseam lengths to modernize the look—shorter inseams for sneakers and flats, and longer inseams for heels. Our favorites are the ‘Demi Patch Pocket Flare,’ in a super soft denim, and the ‘Tailored Trouser Flare in White’—both perfect to wear for any occasion, causal and dressy.” – Mary Bruno, Head of Design of J Brand

“We are inspired by the comeback of the ‘70s trend from the S/S 15 runway. We created a capsule of flares for every occasion—from sexy high-rise flares called ‘Fleetwood,’ which give you the illusion of mile-long legs, to low-slung, casual flip-flop flares with a boyish attitude, to re-introducing the tried-and-true flares that Jerome designed in his first season for Citizens of Humanity, but updating them with a fresh new wash. Flares are definitely the new shape of the season, and feel like a natural continuation on from boyfriend jeans.” – Catherine Ryu, Creative Director of Citizens of Humanity women’s

“Spring is all about denim beyond just a pair of jeans. You are totally on trend with a great denim dress or retro button-down denim skirt this season.” – Chloe Lonsdale, Creative Director of MiH

Will you give up your skinny jeans this spring?  One designer did state if you still want to wear the skinny jeans for spring, update it by wearing a higher rise.   The wide leg pant will be more dificult  for our more petite friends to wear so the straight leg crop may be more of your look for spring.  But you tall gals will look great in the  wide leg pant and everyone  can wear a flare if you find the right size flare.
