They Are Typically Trained & Well Behaved
Generally speaking, older dogs are calmer, more evenly tempered, out of their destructive phase, and likely very good with children.
Older dogs are usually house trained and understand basic commands. Even if they aren’t completely trained, old dogs contrary to the old idiom can learn new tricks. In fact, older dogs are just as smart, but more likely to have greater attention spans, which makes them easier to train.
