If you have back or neck pain or migraines, often visiting a chiropractor is recommended. However, visiting a chiropractor is not as daunting as people might think. For many, they simply don’t know what to expect. Southern Life Chiropractic wants to make you comfortable and provide you with all the information you need. Here are some tips and information that can help you prepare for your first visit with a chiropractor.

To prepare for a visit, you will need to fill out an intake or new patient form, which is available in-house or online. At Southern Life Chiropractic, the appointment will begin with a one-on-one visit with Dr. Blair Baxter to discuss your health history and address any questions or concerns you may have. During the consultation, you will decide if you would like to proceed in finding out if chiropractic care is right for you.

Dr. Blair will then perform a noninvasive chiropractic examination, and if necessary, take some x-rays to help determine what the treatment plan needs to be to meet your particular needs or goals. Most initial visits last between 30 and 45 minutes. If a future visit is needed, they will also work with you to schedule it.

Southern Life Chiropractic wants you as healthy as you can possibly be, so you can have the best quality of life. They encourage all of their patients with a simple reminder, “In Psalm 139:13-14 (ESV) it says, ‘For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.’ God created each person unique and wonderful, but through our life experiences each person may have different ailments and accidents along the way. No one person is exactly alike. Thus, depending on each person’s health condition and history will depend on how many visits are recommended to keep the spine aligned so the body can heal naturally. We love all of our patients and want them better faster, so our recommendations are based on each individual’s particular needs and goals.”

If you’re nervous about visiting their office, they encourage you to talk to others that have had chiropractic care. “Most people love their chiropractor and for good reason. Chiropractic care is a safe and effective treatment for many conditions and has been shown to help people reduce or eliminate their need for pain medications, which is very important with today’s opioid epidemic,” says Dr. Blair of Southern Life Chiropractic. They further invite new patients to come in for a complimentary consultation to discuss any concerns with Dr. Blair.
