Westhaven

Westhaven University announces the addition of new classes beginning August 29, 2015 with the Music City Improve Workshop. The public is invited to attend these classes as part of the Westhaven Foundation’s charge of community enrichment for the entire Franklin community. Music City Improv Workshop
The Music City Improv Workshop will allow participants to learn what it really takes to act a fool! Students will experience the power of play and the fun of improvisational comedy in a fun and lighthearted environment – hosted by Nashville’s premier improvisational theater company. Focusing on various games and exercises that encourage trust, communication, agreement, active listening, character, status and making your scene partner look good are just a few of the core fundamentals and principles of improv that will be taught in this class.

No experience is necessary and fun is guaranteed! The workshop is Saturday, August 29th from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in Townsend Hall in the Westhaven community. Must be 18 years and older to attend, and space is limited to 15 participants, so hurry and register today!

During the class, you will work with drawing pencils and acrylic paints. Each class member will be responsible for their own supplies, and a detailed list will be provided upon class registration.

“When Love Isn’t Enough” – Thursday, September 24th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Many foster and rescue dogs have dog aggression, as well as people aggression, fears, anxiety and phobias. Pet owners and fosters must be able to provide the appropriate environment for these dogs to help them thrive. This seminar will teach humans the skills to address dogs’ behavioral issues, as well as how to use positive leadership techniques.
