The new Kroger store at 411 Whitman Road in Franklin celebrated its Grand Opening on Wednesday, December 2nd. The store opened at 7am with a ribbon cutting ceremony following. The 51,000 square foot store is part of the Westhaven community.
“Our staff is excited about the grand opening festivities,” said Butch Golson, store manager. “We feel we have a beautiful store, and we are anxious to serve customers in this community.”
Features of the store include a specialty cheese shop, olive bar, made-to-order pizza station, fresh sushi, service meat and seafood, natural and organic offerings, floral shop, and a Kroger Pharmacy. A few weeks following the grand opening, the store will begin to offer the new online ordering service, ClickList.
The new store will employ approximately 100 associates. Grand Opening Day, the first 300 customers received a FREE package of Simple Truth Natural Boneless Chicken Breasts.
Harris Teeter Closes in Westhaven
Kroger is one of the nation’s largest retail grocery chains. The Nashville Division operates 91 stores and 76 Fuel Centers in Middle and East Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and North Alabama. The key focus areas of giving for Kroger are K-12 education, feeding the hungry, women’s health and wellness initiatives, and other grass roots community initiatives.
