Sun Brings Melting Snow but Refreezing Could Cause Travel Hazards

According to the National Weather Service, snow and ice on area roadways will begin melting today as temperatures rise above freezing. however, any areas of melting will refreeze tonight as temperatures fall below freezing once again.

Caution is urged if traveling as roads will remain hazardous in some areas, especially on secondary roadways.

Significant melting of snow and ice is expected on Monday and Tuesday as temperatures warm in the 40s and 50s and the next round of rain falls across the area. Roadways are expected to return to near normal conditions.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 36. Temperatures drop to 28 Sunday night.

Monday Forecast:
Increasing clouds, with a high near 48, south wind 5-15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. We may see showers on Monday night with a low around 42.
