What to Wear to Steeplechase

In a few short days, the running of the 73rd Steeplechase will take place on Saturday May 10.  And we’ve got some ideas on what to wear to this year’s race day.

Looking for a casual easy to wear look this year?  This outfit from Jondie in downtown Franklin gives a laid back feel, more like something you might see at Coachella.  Check out that necklace made by owner, Rebecca Davis.  Her collection is called Mimi and Dot.photo (1)

If you prefer the traditional look, here is floral dress with a Carol Carr hat from Stacey Rhodes Boutique located in Brentwood.  Carol Carr hats are like wearing a piece of art. With each hat being handmade, they are truly something you will treasure for years to come.photo (2)

Our next option has color and comfort written all over it.  Maxi dress by Lily Pulitzer at Belk located in the CoolSpring Galleria.

The forecast calls for rain again this year, so your footwear is just as important as your dress.  We all know that with rain comes the typical muddy conditions on race day.  Remember that spring essential we mentioned of rain boots?  This is the perfect occasion to pull those out of the closet.  We found these at Bink’s Outfitters in downtown Franklin.
