Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Basketball team in their victory in the WMAA County Championship game, coming out as number 1. The team defeated Heritage 48-36, and finished 18-3 for the year which gave Woodland a Great Championship season.

Grassland Middle
Congratulations to the Coordinated School Health Team for receiving a grant for $750.00 from Williamson County Schools. These funds will enable the PE Department to purchase necessary equipment and materials to enhance PE instruction. CSH Co-Chairs Coach Kimberly Connor and Coach Jerry Guiffre wrote the grant proposal.

Annual MTSU Linguistics Olympiad Results
On February 1, 2014, Ravenwood students participated in the 8th Annual MTSU Linguistics Olympiad. This was the largest Olympiad ever held at MTSU, with teams representing many area schools, including some Williamson County high schools. Ravenwood placed in both the team and individual categories.
Large Team (out of 22 teams):
1st place: Zach Glick, Simon Lowen, Jordan Widjaja, Sean Yao
3rd place(tie): Christopher Nicastro, Aditya Sathe, AJ Wei, Stanley Xiang

RHS Student Qualifies for NACLO
Ravenwood junior Christopher Nicastro has qualified for the invitation round of the North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad (NACLO). On January 30, over 1600 students in the United States and Canada, including some Ravenwood computational linguistics club members, participated in the open round of NACLO. Of these 1600 participants, Christopher is one of only 165 students in North America, and one of only two in Tennessee, who scored high enough to qualify for the next invitation round on March 13. In this next round, students will vie for spots on the team that will compete at the International Linguistics Olympiad.
RHS Girls Lacrosse:
The Girls Lacrosse team opened their 2014 season with a trip to Atlanta to play in the Gwinnett Invitational Tournament. With a complete team effort the Lady Raptors had victories over Sprayberry, Marist and St. Pius High Schools to become tournament Champions. The Raptors dominated in every facet of the game controlling the draw circle 62% of the time, scoring 42 goals, their net minders had a save percentage of 51% only allowing 18 goals and the defense had 39 forced turnovers.
