Williamson County Schools

Brentwood Middle

As part of the Williamson County Art Show, Brentwood Middle has several students who have artwork on display at the Frist Center of Visual Arts. These include sixth grade students Zachary McDonald and Sarah Renee’ Driver; seventh grade students Callie Hilgenhurst and Matthew Walters; and eighth grade students Jessica Mei and Ann Lauryn Carmichael. The show will hang in the third floor gallery of the museum from Saturday, March 1 through Sunday, March 16.

Grassland Middle

Grassland Middle School is excited to present Krazy Kamp! Under the direction of drama teacher Jennifer Keith, Krazy Kamp will be showing on March 7-9. The times are 6:30pm Friday and Saturday, and Sunday at 1:30pm. The cast and crew have been working hard and guarantees that you will have a “Krazy” good time! We hope to see you there! Tickets are $5 at the door and performances will take place in the Grassland Elementary School Gym.

Congratulations to the Lady Generals from Grassland Middle School for winning the WMAA championship on Thursday night beating Freedom 38-35. Holly Harris led all scorers with 14. Sarah Harden had 11 and was our MVP for the tournament.

This group of Girls lost one game in 3 years and went 21-0 as 8th graders to become the most successful basketball team in Grassland Middle School history.  Congratulations to all of our players:

Ravenwood High School

The RHS Forensics (Speech & Debate) Team traveled with 38 competitors to Gatlinburg, TN last weekend to compete in the 18 school, 300 student, Smokey Mountain Invitational Forensics Tournament. The team brought back a 1st Place Overall, 1st place Debate and a 2nd place Individual Events. In addition to the Sweepstakes awards, Ms. Duyn was the recipient of the 2014 Coach of the Year Award. The team had over ¾ of the students attending break into Quarter and Semi Finals. Ravenwood brought a total of 102 entries with 25% of the entries (25/102) making it to finals and 36% (9/25) placing among the top 3. The individual results are as follows:

Summit High

The Summit High School Science Bowl Team competed in the TN Science Quiz Bowl on February 22nd at Pellissippi State University along with 55 other teams from across the state. Team 1, consisting of Cass Roberts, Josh Allen, Lauren Flader, Anthony Kupecz and Camden McNeely, made it through their morning round-robin division with a 5-1 record. They advanced to the single-elimination tournament; ultimately leaving tied for 8th place.

Team 2, consisting of Michael Clothier, Josh Sadler, Jaron Hengstenberg, Billy Baumgart and Christian Glandorf, were placed in a difficult division. The team performed well, but lost two matches by a single question and were unable to advance to the next round.
