For many, public speaking is an obstacle that’s hard to pass. For these Williamson County Schools students, however, they take the challenge in stride.
Several WCS high schools competed in the National Speech and Debate Association’s (NSDA) National Qualifying Events and Public Forum competition hosted at Ravenwood High School on March 2-3. Students from around the state competed to see who would represent Tennessee at the 2018 NSDA Nationals in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the end of June.
Brentwood High School was also given the Leading Chapter Award for 2016-17 for having accumulated the highest number of degrees throughout the school year.
Independence, Ravenwood, Brentwood and Summit high schools will all send students to Florida as a result of their performance in the qualifying tournament. Congratulations to the following students:
