There’s lots to report from WCS news this week! Williamson County Schools announced the addition of a new Transportation Director set to begin work later this month. The BE NICE campaign continues with some local celebrity input, and students across the county continue to score high and learn in fun, creative ways.
BE NICE Month Continues:
Students shared what their goals are for BE NICE month. Centennial High graduate and CMA Award Nominee Kelsea Ballerini also weighed in on the importance of kindess.
National Merit Semifinalists:
WCS celebrated high schoolers from several schools who qualified as National Merit Semifinalists.
Caterpillars to Butterflies:

Second graders in Susan Ezzell’s classroom are studying Painted Lady caterpillars as they grow and change. Students at Clovercroft Elementary School will soon join in the fun as well!
Summit Freshman Wins Pan Am Gold

On August 30, Summit High ninth grader Chris McElvain won the COPABE “AA” Pan American Championship as a member of the 15U National Baseball team.
Community Helpers:

Officers Wood and Holder, along with Lexi the police dog, visited kindergartners in Shelly Lindsey’s class at Edmondson Elementary, who are learning about the helpers in our community.
