WCS Marching Bands Compete in Contest of Champions

Four Williamson County high school marching bands joined the best of the best at Middle Tennessee State University’s 57th Contest of Champions.

Four Williamson County high school marching bands joined the best of the best at Middle Tennessee State University’s 57th Contest of Champions.

Centennial, Franklin, Independence and Ravenwood high schools all competed in the contest November 2. Both Franklin High and Ravenwood High received superior ratings from the judges, which means they had some of the best performances of the event.

Franklin High placed first in the Class AAA preliminary competition and then went on to place third in the finals. The band also earned an honorable mention.

The Centennial High marching band is directed by Scott Miller. The Franklin High marching band is directed by Jacob Campos. The Independence High marching band is directed by Tyler Dieterich. The Ravenwood High marching band is directed by Chris Janowiak.
