Indoor Volleyball at Franklin Rec Complex

The Athletics Division of WCPR has announced upcoming registration dates for Spring coed 6’s (Thursday nights) and women’s 4’s (Sunday afternoons) indoor volleyball leagues at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. Registration will be open February 2-27.  The season starts in March. Daddy/Daughter Dance at Fairview Rec Complex

Daddy’s Lil’ ‘Frozen’ Princess Ball will take place at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd., on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Registration opens January 26 for this event, and space is limited. 

This will be a special night for girls 4 to 12 years of age and their dad, grandfather, uncle or other special person. Couples are encouraged to dress up and dance the night away! Each girl gets her own tiara and a commemorative photo. Elsa and Anna, the stars of ‘Frozen’, will also be at the dance!   This event is $18 per couple and $6 for each additional girl. Lifeguard Positions Available

Part-time lifeguard positions are available in Franklin, Brentwood, Fairview or Spring Hill. Schedules are flexible, and wages are competitive.

The positions require Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR/AED certification. Training courses for required certifications will be offered by Williamson County Parks and Recreation on the following dates: February 14-28; March 14-20; or April 18-May 2 ($125). Also, a lifeguard/CPR pass/fail test for previously certified individuals will be offered on May 4 ($45). All courses are open to the public, and students must be 15 years of age on or before the final day of the course.

The “Early Bird” training class ($125) will be February 14-28 on Monday and Wednesday evenings and all day on Saturdays at the Indoor Sports Complex (ISC), 920 Heritage Way in Brentwood. In-person registration is Saturday, January 31 at noon at the ISC.

The “Spring Break” training class ($125) will be Saturday, March 14 and March 16-20 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at two locations: the Indoor Sports Complex (ISC), 920 Heritage Way in Brentwood; and the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr. In-person registration for this session is Saturday, February 28 at noon at both locations.

The “Last Chance” training class ($125) will be April 18-May 2 on Monday and Wednesday evenings and all day on Saturdays at two locations: the Indoor Sports Complex (ISC), 920  Heritage Way in Brentwood; and the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr. In-person registration for this session is Saturday, March 28 at noon at both locations.

The “Lifeguard/CPR Review,” a pass/fail class, will be offered on Monday, May 4 at 5:00 p.m. at the ISC. No review or instruction is provided for this class ($25). Students must be familiar with the latest Red Cross material before the class. Registration for this class begins Saturday, April 18 at noon at the ISC.

Sr Field Trip From Longview Rec Center

WCPR invites area seniors (55 and older) to join the fun at Coffee & Classics at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center on February 6. This trip will feature coffee and pastries followed by a Nashville Symphony orchestra concert featuring Dvořák’s beloved ‘New World’.

Departure from the Longview Recreation Center in Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr. will be at 7:30 a.m. and from the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd. at 8:30 a.m.

The trip is $50, and includes transportation from either center, the concert and refreshments. Registration for the event ends January 30 or when full. No messages allowed.
