WCP&R is Here for Your Health and Fitness

The most extensive and versatile Health and Fitness program in the county is run by the Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCP&R) department. Just look at all the activities they have available on their website and visit them on Facebook.

Through February you can still purchase a 30 visit pass for 50 percent off. The all-county passes are available at a discount until the 28th. Just this past Monday, registration for spring, summer and fall league tennis began. Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles will be offered for men and women.  Registration will take place at the tennis office at the Indoor Sports Complex, 920 Heritage Way in Brentwood. Brentwood Women’s indoor soccer leagues begin registration on March 1st. The indoor arena at Crockett Park is the place and teams are only $400. Register at the arena from 1-9 p.m. Monday through Friday. The league is capped at six teams so don’t wait too long. Youth Volleyball league sign-ups end February 15th, so don’t miss the deadline. Adult flag football registration ends on February 18th as well.

Franklin has therapeutic programs available as well, led by Therapeutic Recreation Specialists who assist people with disabilities to develop skills, knowledge and behavior for daily living and community involvement.  For more information regarding therapeutics programs, contact Jayne McFadden at (615) 790-5719, ext. 203. Ages 6-23 can enjoy games, crafts, music and more at Super Saturday Respite Saturday, March 2nd. Bowling, fitness fun, potluck and bingo, kickball and a special St. Patrick’s Day of fun are scheduled in March too.
