Our Thrift Store, located on Columbia Pike in Franklin is a thrift store that serves a very special purpose. They have created 25 ongoing jobs for young adults with disabilities.
It is not only a great place to find the best deals on many items from clothing, books, furniture and appliances but they employ disabled young adults that they train and serve.
At Our Thrift Store, 100% of the proceeds go to the GEAR Foundation’s services allowing Our Thrift Store to expand their programs and create more jobs.
“Our Thrift Store provides opportunities beyond cloistered environments such as group homes or sheltered workshops. Our Thrift Store and Our Fulfillment Center assists in mainstreaming special needs young adults. By providing the opportunity to have the young adults work and interact in a warm and friendly public setting, the program is having a tremendous impact in improving self-image and boosting confidence. Most importantly, these businesses provide real hope for an independent life beyond an educational setting. In addition, parents are thrilled with the results and the promise of a stable future for their special child” writes Our Thrift Store Founder Dave Krikac.

“We are SO privileged to have the support of our friend Wynonna. The Judd family has been there for us at Our Thrift Store since the first day we opened our doors and had only 4 young adults with special needs hired. Today we have over 25 young adults working and have helped 3 other thrift stores across the United States launch their own store to hire special needs adults in their communities.”
