Walker Stalker Con, celebrating the best in horror, fantasy, and sci-fi, is hosting its fourth event in Nashville on August 24-25, 2019, at the Opryland Hotel. The fan-based convention, which has hosted events all over the nation, has consumers unhappy and many left in search of a refund.

According to the Better Business Bureau, the event has seen complaints not just in the United States but globally from as far away as Scotland. The event operates as Walker Stalker Cruises, Walker Stalker Con and Fan Fest.

The top three complaints the BBB has received from consumers:

  • Late cancellations of events with no refunds.
  • Changes of benefits promised to VIP customers with no notice
  • Change of dress code to the event – attendees show up dressed as characters and are turned away at the door for not meeting the dress code for the event.

BBB tells consumers to do your homework before investing your money in a costly event. Check the reviews and the Better Business Bureau page. So far, attendees have lost anywhere from $200 – $700. Also, only make a purchase using a credit card so you can dispute the charges, don’t pay by debit or check over the phone.

Walker Stalker Convention is solely owned by James Frazier, resident of Thompson’s Station, who currently has not responded to the BBB about the consumer complaints.

Three years ago, Walker Stalker Con held its first event in Nashville held at the Music City Center. At that time they described it as “Walker Stalker Con is not just a convention. It is a fan meet-up and an opportunity for each guest to come away feeling like they’ve had an amazing experience and became part of a greater community of zombie lovers! Walker Stalker Con is three days of events, panels, and experiences that zombie fans won’t find anywhere else!”

On the Walker Stalker Convention Page, celebrity guests have been canceling their appearances and guests are complaining about refunds. A message on Facebook was posted to fans.

Fan Fest is actively working to resolve outstanding refunds to its customers. In doing so, we have created an Attendee Committee. We were approached by the administrators from approximately 20 Facebook fan/attendee pages that involve Walker Stalker Con and Fan Fest Events (formerly Heroes & Villains Fan Fest) in hopes of working together to streamline communication. These Facebook pages represent attendees across all of our events. The purpose of this committee is to have an open dialogue on the status of Fan Fest Events and the progress it is making. As well, it’s an opportunity for weekly accountability, the exchange of ideas, and ways to improve Fan Fest Events and Walker Stalker Con. The goal is to work together to bring the best experience to attendees outside and inside of the convention.

Finally, and most importantly, we want to apologize. It is not a reflection of how we want things to be and we understand your frustration with us. As most of you have read the Q&A on the status of our company, we are doing everything we can to correct things and turn this around. We promise better communication and transparency moving forward.

Thank you for supporting our events in the past, for your patience, and, we hope, for your continued support in the future.

  1. Not looking forward to continuing supporting Walker Stalker in Nashville, Tn. If you cant have the guests wanting to attend. Guests that most are expecting to see, meet etc… Very disappointed that very important guests have backed out.

  2. This story needs a follow up. Nashville con cancelled shortly (about two weeks) before the event date.

After 3 requests my money has not been refunded just a promise that the check is in the mail.

BBB site is starting to fill up with both vendors and attendees not getting their money back from the cancelled show.

Con organizers are doing everything they can (including offering free tickets to other shows) to keep from having to return any money.

    • I am still waiting for a refund in mid-November… and they have CLOSED the contact email address to HIDE from people like me! >:( They are thieves.

  3. I bought tickets one day and the event was cancelled the next. They responded back and forth with me for four or five times assuring me that a refund was on its way. Now they won’t even respond. I used my credit card and I guess I will have to file a complaint with them. I usually keep a zero balance on my card and now I have had to pay interest twice on something that I never got to use.

  4. I have sent numerous emails and requests and have not received my money for the ticket. I have been able to get refunds on my flight and hotel but this is truly a “CON”

The email for the request for a refund is no longer valid and bounces back.
