Page quarterback Cade Walker completed 20 of 27 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown, and added five carries for 28 yards and another score, leading the Patriots to a 20-12 win at Franklin County.
Two-way star Michael Burdick had nine catches for 70 yards and a score, and added seven tackles (five unassisted) for the Patriots (3-0).
Walker had a 7-yard rushing score, putting the Patriots up 17-6 with 7:39 left in the third quarter after kicker Chase Tidmore’s point-after.
Tidmore added a 31-yard field goal with 2:07 left in the third quarter.
Tidmore hit a 26-yard field goal four seconds into the second quarter for the game’s first points.
But Franklin County took the lead on a 65-yard scoring drive capped by Kevin Johnson’s 21-yard touchdown catch. The Rebels missed the extra point, keeping the score at 6-3 with 5:56 left in the half.
Page re-took a 10-6 lead on Walker’s touchdown pass to Burdick with 1:35 remaining in the second quarter, and that remained the score at half.
Page travels to Ravenwood next week.
