Over 200 volunteers helped transform the Williamson County Ag Center into a 7-court volleyball stadium tonight, which will allow Alliance Volleyball Club to host a 120-team tournament this weekend as-planned despite being locked out of A-Game Sportsplex. See the before and after pictures above.
Alliance Volleyball Club Director, Jeff Wismer: “It’s only because of our great staff getting on the phones and having this equipment rushed here, and great cooperation from Williamson County that we are able to do this.” Wismer said 120 teams from 9 different states are set to compete this weekend. “And I especially proud that our rec league will also get to play here this week. These girls just want to play volleyball for the fun of it, and they’re the ones hurt most by A-Game’s closure.”
In just about 3 hours this evening, a group of volunteers raised on two-hour notice arrived at the Williamson County Ag Center and quickly transformed it, placing 7 snap-in-place sport courts, nets, and scoreboards for use in this weekend’s tournament.
Alliance learned earlier today that it will have to wait until next week for a ruling in its legal efforts to force A-Game Sportsplex to honor lease agreements.
