Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam

It was the 40th Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam and can we just say it was jam packed with some of Country Music’s biggest acts.  Oak Ridge Boys,Kentucky Headhunters,Craig Morgan,Eric Church,Natalie Stovall,Alabama,Ted Nugent,Trace Adkins,Billy Ray Cyrus,Wynonna Judd,Travis Tritt,Montgomery Gentry,Phil Vassar,and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

A benefit for U.S. Military veterans and their families, the 40th Anniversary Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam raised hundreds of thousands in proceeds for the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, The Journey Home Project. It was co-founded by Daniels and his manager David Corlew, seeks to connect donors with veterans’ organizations that do the most good in meeting the health care, education and career needs of military servicemen and women and their families. Additional concert proceeds will benefit the Nashville Predators Foundation.

RIAA’s top digital country male artist of all time Jason Aldean celebrated the success of his recent three consecutive No. One hits, “Burnin’ It Down,” “Just Gettin’ Started” and “Tonight Looks Good On You,” off of his PLATINUM record OLD BOOTS, NEW DIRT this week. Friends and family packed Nashville’s City Winery for a progressive party, which moved throughout the venue to celebrate each song.

Dollywood Adds World’s Fastest Roller Coaster

Dollywood announced the addition of Lightning Rod, both the world’s fastest wood coaster and the world’s first launching wood coaster. Set to roll to the starting line in March 2016, Lightning Rod adds another groundbreaking roller coaster to the park’s already impressive portfolio of world-class attractions. The thrilling $22 million ride also marks the single largest attraction investment in The Dollywood Company’s history.

Themed after a tricked out 1950s-era hot rod, Lightning Rod launches riders from zero to 45 mph more than 20 stories up its lift hill to one of the ride’s first airtime moments. At the crest of the hill, riders face twin summit airtime hills before tackling the daring first drop. Lightning Rod races down the 165-foot drop and propels guests along its 3,800-ft. track to a top speed of 73 mph, the fastest speed for a wood coaster in the world.

Jennifer Nettles to Play Dolly Parton’s Mother

Jennifer Nettles has been selected to play Dolly Parton’s mother,Avie Lee, in the NBC movie Coat of Many Colors according to the Hollywood Reporter.Based on her inspiring life story, Dolly Parton’s A Coat of Many Colors examines the tight-knit Parton clan as they struggle to overcome devastating tragedy and discover the healing power of love, faith and a raggedy patchwork coat that helped shape Parton into who she is today.

Tyler Farr Fell Off Stage at His Latest Concert

At a concert in Virginia, Tyler Farr got a little too involved with the song to notice the stage ended.  He posted this video on Facebook. Thankfully, the singer didn’t suffer any injuries and he even continued the song.
