Alliance Volleyball Club Protests A-Game Closure

Thursday morning, A-Game Sportsplex closed unexpectedly without warning to employees or sports clubs. Crowds began to gather as many athletes had expected to use the facility that day. The Franklin Police Department arrived to assist in allowing clubs, one at a time, to enter the facility to gather their equipment.

Local volleyball, hockey and other clubs, and their thousands of athletes, who had games and practices scheduled at A-Game now need to find an alternative place to play. Local athletes gathered Thursday evening to protest the closing of A-Game.

Sports Land Group, LLC purchased A-Game in 2008. They released a statement Thursday, stating that the facility averaged a monthly shortfall of over $72,000 and the business was simply not sustainable. Despite their efforts over the course of three years to find a buyer who would continue to operate the facility as a sportsplex, they were not successful. AI. Neyer has since purchased  the facility. The sports center will be transformed into one of the largest office buildings in Williamson County.
