The Christmas classic song, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” has been banned by several radio stations this holiday season.
Written by Frank Loesser in 1944, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” was featured in the 1949 film Neptune’s Daughter, and actually won an Oscar for “Best Original Song.”
WDOK in Cleveland who banned the song stated on their website the following,
“I do realize that when the song was written in 1944, it was a different time, but now while reading it, it seems very manipulative and wrong.”
“The world we live in is extra sensitive now, and people get easily offended, but in a world where #MeToo has finally given women the voice they deserve, the song has no place.”
The Holderness Family released their own version of the song on Monday morning. They changed the title from “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” to “Baby, Just Go Outside” with mentions of Uber and saying, “Ok, You’re free to Go.”
In just eight hours, the video received 15 million views on Facebook.
