Venom Thrash Fire; Stay in First Place

The Nashville Venom have improved to 7-2 on the season and remain in first place after their 73-29 stomping of the Georgia Fire on Saturday night.

It isn’t surprising for a team that averages over 53 points per game to put up more big numbers tonight but the Venom never let up offensively and the defense also stepped up to make big plays.

The Venom scoring got started with a 1-yard carry from Bradley making it a 7-1 Nashville lead with the extra point.

The Venom started to create some separation with a 20-yard touchdown pass from McCollum to to Barnet. That made it 21-8.

The first quarter would end with the Venom leading 21-14 and another McCollum to Barnett touchdown pass, this one to the corner, made it 27-15 Venom,

The game started to seem out of reach when Barnett made an incredible catch over the wall. Reed’s extra point and UNO made it 44-22 Venom and they were well on their way to their seventh win of the season.

Nashville will travel to Columbus for a 7:00 kick-off next Saturday.
