Charles & Charles Rosé

Charles & Charles Rosé, 2014 Washington State

When people think of Rose, they tend to think overly sweet and unexciting. A true Rose is far from the white zinfandels of the wine world and as with any wine varietal, a Rose is as varied in style as the winemaker chooses. This particular bottle hales from Washington State and is produced from a blend that is predominantly Syrah. The gorgeous color comes from a brief interaction of the grape skins with the juice during crush. The result is a glass of pure summer sipping joy. Aromas of fresh melon, light citrus and wet stone translate to bright, crisp acidity that smack of mineral notes wrapped in dried raspberries. This is a bone dry wine and is absolutely wonderful by itself or with manner any of summer fare. A bit of trivia fun: the label is designed by Nashville’s very own Hatch Show Print.
