Fishermen Take Note, TWRA Trout Stocking

If you are an avid fisherman then you are already aware of the Trout stocking taking place by the TWRA. In case you are a little less involved you should know that the TWRA or Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, is stocking the Harpeth River with Trout on February 22nd and March 22nd.

This is a yearly occurrence, but was thwarted in December and January due to the restoration project at the former Dam site on Lewisburg Pike. That project is still in process to allow the vegetation along the river banks to take hold.  The City’s Parks Department has provided a temporary location for TWRA to stock the trout at Pinkerton Park off the Highway 96 Bridge.

The Harpeth River Watershed Association (HWRA) will have a table set up at Pinkerton Park for river/fish education, both weekends following the trout stocking. Additionally, on March 23, from 11AM – 1PM, HRWA will host family fishing festivities at the river.  Bring your kids out to participate in fun and educational Harpeth River-themed games and activities!
