Beginning Tuesday, July 24th there will be a new two-way stop at the intersection of McEwen and Oxford Glen Drive. Since Phase Three of the McEwen Project began the city has received complaints about traffic at this intersection. This current four-way stop is causing traffic backlog in morning and evening hours.
BE AWARE that it will no longer require everyone to stop at this intersection.

Once the temporary connector road east of the round-a-bout is complete it should alleviate some of the volume. Staff recommend the changes below to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen and they were approved.
Two-way Stop on McEwen Drive, with interim channelization for westbound right turn only. All westbound traffic will turn right and then proceed through the roundabout to their desired direction, with special signing to South Oxford Glen Drive.
Close monitoring of traffic flow and safety conditions after the change, with special attention to vehicle stacking, wait times, and speeds.
This is done in an effort to help everyone traveling through this area. If you have questions or concerns you can contact Traffic/Transportation Engineer Carl Baughman [email protected] or Project Engineer Jonathan Marston [email protected] both at 791-3218.
