Two TN Breweries Win at World Beer Cup

World Beer Cup

What is the World Beer Cup?
Often touted as ‘The Olympics of Beer Competitions,’ this tournament brings together more than 1,400 breweries from 60 different countries. Every two years they face off to see who can brew the best beer in a number of different categories.

“The quality and diversity of beers available around the world prove that brewing excellence knows no borders,”said Brewers Association President Charlie Papazian.

Who won what?
This year two Tennessee breweries were represented at the event and both received high marks. Blackberry Farm Brewery out of Walland picked up gold in the French and Belgian style Saison category. Yee-Haw Brewing, based in Johnson City, also placed at the bi-annual competition. They received the bronze medal in the European Style Dark Dunkel category. Where can I try them?
Blackberry Farm’s beers are on The Casual Pint’s rotation of tap beers. The store also offers up several of their brews in bottles. Unfortunately, Yee-Haw Brewing does not yet distribute to the middle Tennessee area. However, they hope to expand their marketing area very soon.
