Two Teens Finish in Top 5 at Junior-Am Golf Tournament

Two local teen golfers placed in the top 5 at this summers Under Armour/Scott Stallings Championship. The tournament was held in Oak Ridge on July 27 -30, 2015 and is a Junior-Am Tournament as part of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA).

The AJGA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

Brayden Garrison, a Ravenwood High School student, tallied five birdies and an eagle on No. 9 to record a tournament total of 9-under-par 207 and placed third. Coach Dan Hollandsworth is excited about the season with Garrison on the team sharing, “Brayden has had an amazing summer! We have got some talent!”

Trenton Johnson, from Brentwood High School rounded out the top five at 8 under par 208. Johnson is coached by Walter Robison at Brentwood.

Both Brentwood and Ravenwood High Schools are expected to have an outstanding golf season this fall.

Goodman Rudolph, a 17-year-old from Cordova, Tennessee finished first in the Championship. Rudolph is the grandson of five-time PGA TOUR winner Mason Rudolph. He won the tournament by one stroke, finishing 11-under-par 205. He sealed his win with birdies on two out of the final three holes.
