Franklin Police arrested two repeat offenders for DUI on Wednesday.
At 1:30 a.m., 40-year-old Mark Reeves, of Franklin, was clocked at 85 miles per hour in a 70 MPH zone on I-65N near mile marker 63. The officer quickly determined that Reeves was impaired. When Reeves stepped out of his vehicle, he actually fell against it. A computer check of Reeves’ license revealed that it was revoked because Reeves is a habitual DUI offender.
Reeves remains in custody at the Williamson County Jail, charged with DUI – 3rd Offense, Driving as a Habitual Offender, and Speeding. He is being held on a $17,500 bond, and is due in court on 05/14/2015 at 1:00 p.m.
In another case, an officer was dispatched to Jordan Road and Victoria Court at 7:30 p.m. for a vehicle reportedly stuck in the ditch. The arriving officer found 59-year-old Duncan Wells, of Franklin, behind the wheel. The officer quickly determined that Wells was impaired. A computer check revealed that Wells’ license was revoked for a previous DUI.
Wells, charged with DUI – 4th Offense and Driving on a Revoked License – 3rdOffense, is free on a $10,000 bond. He is due in court 05/21/2015 at 1:00 p.m.
In 2014, there were 6,634 known alcohol-related traffic crashes in Tennessee; Nationally, one in three traffic fatalities are a result of an alcohol-impaired driving crash.
