Two juveniles decided to go on a mini-crime spree last night, according to Spring Hill Police.

On Friday at 2:13 a.m., officers were dispatched to Patel Wine and Spirits on Spedale Court to an alarm call. When the responding officer arrived, he noticed that the glass to the front door had been broken. The officer also observed a hammer laying just inside the front door.

Earlier in the night the Maury County Sheriff’s Office requested our assistance to lookout for a vehicle that was reported stolen at an address on Kedron Road that was outside the city limits. At 2:15 AM an officer observed a vehicle matching the stolen vehicle description that was traveling on Achiever Circle in Spring Hill. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and found that it was occupied by a 15-year-old male and a 17-year-old male.

The investigation revealed that one of the juveniles had shoplifted several items from Wal-Mart in Spring Hill, including the hammer used to break the glass in the door. Several items believed to be from Wal-Mart and Patel Wine and Spirits were found inside the vehicle. The vehicle was also determined to be the one that was stolen from Kedron Rd.

Both juveniles were transported to the Williamson County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with shoplifting and burglary. The Maury County Sheriff’s Office will have charges relating to the theft of the vehicle and DUI.
