Two Franklin Teens Announce Creation of New Duo Kalon

Two Franklin teens, Maddie Kerr and Allie Holden, make up the musical duo Kalon.

We first met Maddie and Allie when we interviewed Eternal Spring, a group formed from a youth group at Franklin United Methodist Church. This week we sat down with them to learn more about the name they selected and hear the first original song they penned in only 15 minutes.

Maddie and Allie told us when they first joined Eternal Spring, they were shy and seemed to bond over not being as vocal as others in Eternal Spring.

Their friendship grew from there and they began writing songs together. They haven’t had their first gig yet but have been encouraged by the overwhelming response from social media when they performed their original song “Long Shot.”

Allie is a student at Centennial High School and Maddie is a student at Franklin High School and star track runner. She set the school record for the 100 Meter Sprint in the Spring of 2017, she was also MVP Sprinter at Franklin High School and plays on the Franklin Lady Rebels Soccer team.

Being inspired by her track record breaking friend, Allie joined the track team just long enough to be in the team picture but ultimately decided track wasn’t the sport for her.
