Police Report Two Crashes on I-65 Over the Weekend Caused by Drunk Drivers

Over the weekend, the Franklin Police Department arrested two men suspected of drunken driving on Interstate 65 after they caused crashes.

Police arrested Bobby Boshears, 27, of Jacksboro, for driving under the influence after he wedged his convertible under a semi-trailer at 7 p.m. Sunday night.

The crash happened on I-65 north near Peytonsville Road. According to the media release, the semi driver told officers that he pulled over after feeling his truck lurch forward. He said he was shocked to find a vehicle wedged under his truck.  No one involved in the accident was injured.

Boshears remains jailed on a $7,500 bond.

Zachary Davis, 30, of Culleoka, is free on bond after his arrest Friday night following an apparent DUI crash on I-65 south near Peytonsville Road.

Officers responded to the crash at 11:15 p.m. According to the department media release, authorities arrested Davis for DUI after colliding with another vehicle when he approached an unanticipated traffic backup.

Davis – charged with DUI, violation of the implied consent law, and following too closely – is free on the $2,500 bond set by the Magistrate.

Boshears and Davis are both due in court Oct. 6, at 1 p.m.
