On Friday, emergency crews responded to a serious single-vehicle crash on I-840 westbound, about a mile from the Pinewood Road onramp, where a car flipped off a bridge and landed on the ground below.
Due to the severity of the crash, two Vanderbilt LifeFlight helicopters were requested to airlift patients from the scene. Williamson Fire-Rescue assisted Williamson County Fire/Rescue, with additional response from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Williamson Health ambulances, and Williamson County 911.
Westbound lanes of I-840 were temporarily closed while crews worked. Units on scene also contained a minor oil leak from the vehicle. The condition of the patients has not yet been released.
