Three Williamson County Schools coaches have been honored by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) for their hard work and dedication.
Brentwood High’s Chris Saunders is the TSSAA Boys Golf Coach of the Year; Ravenwood High’s Ricky Rodriguez is the TSSAA Girls Flag Football Coach of the Year; and Summit High’s Pete Miller is the TSSAA Wrestling Coach of the Year.
“These three coaches epitomize what we look for in our coaches,” said WCS Athletics Director Patrick Whitlock. “They compete at the highest level as coaches and educators, and they show the incredible depth of our great coaching staff across the county. WCS has the most recipients out of the 26 sports that award Coach of the Year.”
Students or teams from each of these programs won State titles during the 2024-25 school year. Brentwood High’s boys golf team took home the TSSAA Class AA team title, and Ravenwood High’s girls flag football team won the first TSSAA Girls Flag Football State Invitational title. Zachery Little and Brayden Leach, both wrestlers from Summit High, placed first in their categories at the State individual tournament.
