TSC Hosts Feyenoord Football Club From The Netherlands

This week, the Tennessee Soccer Club (TSC) is hosting soccer coaches from Feyenoord Football Club (FC), which is headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Feyenoord FC, which is one of the top developmental programs in Europe, has a partnership agreement with TSC to provide training as part of its overall global education initiative.

“They are providing a week of coaching education for the TSC staff as well has running training sessions for some TSC teams,” explains Earle Davidson, TSC’s director of coaching for U12-U15 boys. Sessions for players include both boys and girls, from Academy ages up to U17, with topics including wing play, counter pressing and methods of transitioning, combination play, defensive strategies and more. Classroom sessions for the coaches include information relevant to age groups U12 to U19.

 

“Feyenoord FC is one of the top developmental clubs in Europe,” says Davidson. “They have won the award for the top developmental system in the Netherlands for five of the last seven years. Feyenoord FC also sits in first place of the Dutch Professional 1st Division (Eredivisie),” he adds.

“TSC is the standard in regard to player development and coaching education in the state of Tennessee, however this agreement allows us to partner with one of the top academies in the world. This partnership will allow us to further develop our players and coaches as we strive to place players on college, professional, and national teams,” commented TSC Executive Director, Stuart Brown.
