Tree Climbing at Arbor Day Celebration

The 8th annual Arbor Day / Earth Day celebration is being held Saturday April 21st at Pinkerton Park. Activities include the return of tree climbing, Conductor Jack, sapling giveaways, music, food and the Cherry Blossom Tree Dedication. An entire day of fun awaits the whole family from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Tree Climbing Planet will once again be offering to help you enjoy a view from the treetops. Ages 6 an above are welcome to participate in tree ascension using the rope-and-saddle method used by researchers. Master tree climbing instructor, Tim Kovar explains the joy of climbing like this: “Getting up into a tree – being surrounded by the branches – is just a great way to explore nature. Not only is it just plain fun, it connects us with the natural world in a way that not many people are exposed to.”

Participation is free but you must wear closed toe shoes to climb. Kovar founded Tree Climbing Planet a tree climbing school based in Oregon and Nashville. Come out and explore the world from a new vantage point.
