Have you ever wanted to visit the whimsical mist of the Chinese world but you just can’t seem to find that opportunity?

Visit China at the Williamson County Library with Sister Cities’ Passport to the World Series featuring China Sunday, January 12th at 2p.
Musical performances by Dr. Ming Wang MD, PhD, (Chinese violin er-hu) and Carolos Enrique (Classical Guitar) will join in the presentation. Dr. Ming Wang, MD, PhD is the president of the Tennessee Chinese Chamber of Commerce and co-founder of Tennessee Immigrant and Minority Business Group.
Li Weaver will discuss many items that were first discovered in China, including gunpowder, paper, and fingerprinting! Mrs. Weaver will also give us an over view of present day China.
Weaver is the co-founder of J C Business Group, Inc., an international business-consulting firm in Nashville. She has more than 20 years of experience developing and implementing global businesses strategies for both Chinese and Western organizations entering new markets, and expanding operations.
William Hargraves and Charles Li will share their pictures and artifacts from China. Hargraves recently returned from China where he made presentations in Chengdu and Qionglai in Sichuan Province and in Shanghai.
Charles Li of Franklin, who is from Sichuan Province, and taught the Chinese language and culture 17 years ago will also present.
“Passport to the World” was launched in 2010 and provides a personal look into the continents around the globe. This bi-monthly series walks through the doorways of the world to experience the art, music, food, lifestyle, landscape and heritage of our international neighbors presented through performance, presentation and display.
Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County’s Patricia Kriebel notes on its community influences. “This series is designed to assist our community in becoming globally competent and passionate citizens of the world.”
