TPAC Has a Line Up You Won’t Want to Miss

The Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) in Nashville is loaded with a line up you won’t want to miss this season. From Jersey Boys to Queen there is something for everyone.

Broadway returns to TPAC with the “Jersey Boys” directed by Des McAnuff. The one-week engagement is from October 29th to November 3rd and tickets are going fast. The Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical “Jersey Boys,” the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons returns to Nashville so make plans to see it now.

Pilobolus Dance Theatre is also coming to TPAC. This internationally renowned group of dancers takes the stage for one night in Tennessee at Andrew Jackson Hall on Tuesday, September 17th at 7:30 p.m. This troupe leaps, flies and breaks all the rules of dance. The group was founded at Dartmouth College and is named after a barnyard fungus that propels its spores at extraordinary speeds. You have seen them on Oprah, now see them live.

“I Love Lucy” is live on stage at TPAC for two weeks in January of 2014. From January 14th to the 26th, you can experience America’s favorite television show adapted for stage. “Both Lucille Ball and the classic television show she created with Desi Arnaz are timeless and brilliantly funny,” said Kathleen O’Brien, TPAC’s president and chief executive officer. “From the moment the audience arrives, this ingeniously staged production will transport them back in time through its multi-generational, feel-good fun. As a fellow redhead, I can’t wait to have Lucy in our Polk Theater for two weeks this January.”

The Rhapsody is coming says TPAC. “We Will Rock You” is an award winning theatrical built around 24 of Queen’s biggest hits. In November, from the 12th to the 17th, you can experience this take on the future through the eyes of British comedian and writer Ben Elton. “This show is all about legend,” says Elton. “We take the legend of Queen and create our own fantastical story of young kids battling the mighty corporation who wants to suppress their individuality and their love of music. They need a hero who can help them in their struggle, and we have two – the dreamer Galileo, and the sassy rock chick Scaramouche. Guess who ends up winning?”
