The flood gates opened on NFL free agents yesterday afternoon and, for the main part, it was overshadowed by two blockbuster trades.
The New Orleans Saints sent tight end Jimmy Graham to the Seattle Seahawks for center Max Unger, while the Philadelphia Eagles and St. Louis Rams swapped quarterbacks Nick Foles and Sam Bradford.
Ndamukong Suh to the Miami Dolphins was expected to be the highlight of the first day of free agency, but the deal hit a snag and was not completed until late Wednesday afternoon.
Below are my Top 5 Free Agent Acquisitions that took place before Suh signed.
1. Darrelle Revis to the Jets

Revis Island relocates back to New York (stadium’s actually in New Jersey) for what ESPN is reporting as a five-year, $70 million deal.
2. Byron Maxwell to the Eagles

Seattle’s Legion of Boom loses a member as this defensive back migrated east to Philadelphia for what Bleacher Report says is a six-year, $60 million deal with $25 million guaranteed.
3. Mike Iupati to the Cardinals

When you’re forced to play four different quarterbacks due injury, finding someone to protect your quarterback in free agency is a must. Iupati gets $40 million over five years according to Pro Football Talk.
4. Jeremy Maclin to the Chiefs
.@kcchiefs WRs had 0 TDs in 2014. Their new WR had 10: http://t.co/18xE91Mj4R #NFLFreeAgency pic.twitter.com/kIdDq1ylIy — NFL (@nfl) March 11, 2015
Kansas City wide receivers scored as many touchdowns in 2014 as I did. They hope spending $55 million over five years on the former University of Missouri pass catcher will fix that.
5. Julius Thomas to Jaguars
Julius is a Jag! @Julius_Thomas makes it official. MORE: http://t.co/hHlEufkLGk pic.twitter.com/1UA0mj5gIl

Thomas caught 109 passes and 24 touchdowns in two years as Peyton Manning’s tight end. The year prior to Manning’s arrival in Denver he had one reception for five yards. Let’s see if he can live up to what the Denver Post reports is a five-year, $46 million contract with Jaguars second-year quarterback Blake Bortles throwing him the ball.
