Top 5 Greatest Soundtracks of All Time

I got curious the other day, listening to the “Purple Rain” soundtrack , and was trying to figure out what the best soundtracks of all time are. So, I went to Rolling Stone and here’s what I found:

#5: Saturday Night Fever (1974): This movie and album was everything that was good and bad about the 70s.

#4 : Hard Day’s Night (1964): First album that every song was written by the group

#3: The Harder They Come (1972)Not familiar with this movie, but according to Rolling Stone, it was the Saturday Night Fever of Reggae.

#2: Purple Rain (1984): Prince just killed it on this one.

#1: HELP! (1965): If my pick is going to run second, it better be to the Beatles. According to Rolling Stone, Americans didn’t get to hear the original soundtrack until the 80’s, when it was re-issued on CD.

See Rolling Stone’s Complete Breakdown of their Top 25 .

It should be noted that this list is from late 2013, so “Frozen” was not eligible. For those upset about this: “Let It Go.”
