Last week, TobyMac and his wife Amanda suffered the loss of their son, Truett Foster McKeehan.
In honor of Truett, the family has launched the Truett Foster Foundation to raise money to assist kids in pursuing music education.
On the website, it states, “Truett Foster McKeehan had an untamable grand personality and dreams to match. Since the age of 12, he knew he wanted to make music. Dreams are so important to kids growing up. Too many children do not have the financial ability to pursue their dreams. We want to use this fund to help kids do just that: to get an education – to pursue music – to get the chance to chase their dreams. Truett would love that.”
A memorial service was held for Truett Foster at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin with family and close friends this week.
On TobyMac’s website, he shared about Truett saying the last time he was in person with him was the week prior where Truett held his first show at The Factory in Franklin before he headed to his Candian tour the following day. “As I stood in the audience and watched my son bring joy to a room, I was as proud as a ‘pop’ (as tru called me) could be. It was the culminating moment of a dream that he had since he was 12. It couldn’t have been sweeter. Our music, and what we say lyrically couldn’t be more different, but the outcome was much the same… offering a room full of people a few minutes of joy in a crazy world,” shared TobyMac.
TobyMac announced on Friday, November 1, the cancellation of his upcoming Theatre Tour.
Due to the untimely passing of his oldest son Truett Foster, Toby’s place is at home with his family this fall. The TobyMac Theatre Tour in its entirety has been rescheduled to the spring. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause fans.
All 12 dates have been rescheduled for April – May of next year….current tickets held will remain valid for the rescheduled date. Ticket holders unable to attend the rescheduled date will be able to request a refund through the original point of purchase.
We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued prayers for the McKeehan family during this difficult time.
