Titans Steamroll the Jacksonville Jaguars

It was a week later than they had hoped, but the Tennessee Titans team that many expected in 2017 showed up Sunday in Jacksonville.

Spearheaded by a defense that forced three turnovers and Derrick Henry coming off the bench to carry the load at running back, the Titans steamrolled the Jacksonville Jaguars, 37-9, Sunday.

Tennessee scored 31 second-half points to put the game away, their highest total in the second half of a game since 1991. The defense, which allowed a field goal on the opening series, shut down the Jaguars until the game was completely out of hand.

The victory evens the Titans’ record at 1-1 this season and more importantly, makes them 1-0 inside the AFC South, where they won just twice a year ago.

The game was close for the first half, as the Titans led just 6-3 and needed the second of Ryan Succop’s three field goals on the day on the final play of the half just to have that lead.
