Titans Lose to Ravens 21-7, Nightmare Season Continues

Cheer up Titans fans, a high draft pick in the upcoming NFL Draft may soon be yours!

After taking time off their bye week to fix all sorts of problems within the team, Tennessee (2-7) scored in the first quarter off a shovel pass from Zach Mettenberger to Leon Washington and that’s all she wrote. Sound familiar?

The Baltimore Ravens (6-4) who weren’t that awesome from the air, got their running game to tear up Tennessee from the second quarter and beyond, straight to a 21-7 win at M&T Bank Stadium.

Forgive me if I’m beginning to sound like a broken record, but the Titans didn’t really have anyone to look as a bright spot. Mettenberger was 16-of-27 for 179 yards with one touchdown and one pick. Joe Flacco wasn’t that impressive either: also 16-of-27 for 169 yards and one touchdown.

It was the Raven’s rushing that gleamed, led by Justin Forsett for 112 yards on 20 carries and two scores. Tennessee’s Bishop Sankey notched 58 yards for 17 yards.

It wasn’t pretty…once again and at this point, will we ever celebrate a Titans win?

Let’s take a peek at the next remaining seven matchups to cap the season: Steelers, at Eagles, at Texans, NY Giants, NY Jets, at Jaguars and Colts. At best, Tennessee can go 1-7, give or take they fall to Jacksonville again, but considering how this season has been a nightmare of all sorts, going winless the rest of the way isn’t crazy as it sounds.

Tennessee’s next home game is Monday Night Football on ESPN on November 17 against Pittsburgh.
