Former BGA standout quarterback C.J. Beathard has patiently been waiting for his time at the University of Iowa. It appears the wait is over.

When the first depth chart was released this offseason Beathard found himself ahead of two-year starter Jake Rudock and now Rudock is poised to transfer to Michigan.

The writing seemed to be on the wall during the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl when Beathard completed 13-23 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns while Rudock was 2-8 for 32 yards in the Hawkeyes’ 45-28 loss to Tennessee.

“I knew something would happen eventually,” the QB told Des Moines’ WHOtv. “I knew my time was coming. I had faith in God and everything so that worked out for the best. Hopefully from here on out we can win Big 10 championships.”

A red-shirt junior, the 6-foot-2 QB has completed 61-119 passes for 824 yards in limited action.

At BGA, he earned First Team All-State honors as a senior and finished runner up for Mr. Football. His 2148 yards and 23 touchdowns were a Tennessee best in 2011.
