GRAMMY-winning artists Faith Hill and Tim McGraw will receive stars on the Music City Walk of Fame during an induction ceremony on Oct. 5, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in Walk of Fame Park.

“Faith Hill and Tim McGraw both came to Nashville in the 1980s with big dreams and huge talent,” Mayor Megan Barry said. “Driven by their determination and a lot of hard work, they eventually found great success – and each other. Tim and Faith have made a big difference in our city, not only with their music but also with their generous contributions to many important causes. They deserve to join the many other incredible artists on the Music City Walk of Fame, and I’m looking forward to their induction.”

They will receive the 73rd and 74th stars on the Walk of Fame. Inductees are recognized for their significant contributions to preserving the musical heritage of Nashville and for contributing to the world through song or other industry collaboration.

As one of the music’s top-selling and most awarded female artists of all time, Hill has had fourteen No. 1 singles, including “This Kiss” and “Breathe.” She has won five GRAMMY Awards, twelve ACM Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, four American Music Awards, four People’s Choice Awards and three CMA Awards. She has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and is currently working on a new daytime lifestyle show based in Nashville.

Since his debut in 1992, McGraw has been the most-played artist on country radio. He has sold more than 56 million records worldwide and dominated the singles charts with 41 No. 1 singles worldwide. He has won three GRAMMY Awards, 16 Academy of Country Music Awards, 14 Country Music Association Awards, 10 American Music Awards, three People’s Choice Awards and numerous other honors. His critically acclaimed acting skills were highlighted in the award-winning movies Friday Night Lights and The Blind Side. He next appears in The Shack, which hits theaters March 2017. McGraw & Hill recently appeared in the Forever Country video celebrating 50 years of country music.

The Music City Walk of Fame was created in 2006 on Nashville’s Music Mile, a roughly one-mile stretch that connects downtown to Music Row. Permanent sidewalk medallions with the names of the inductees are displayed in a star-and-guitar design.
