The City of Brentwood and the community will continue celebrating the 50th year of its incorporation on Saturday, June 15 during BrentFest. This free community festival will begin at 3pm and feature live music, a kid zone, a variety of sweet and savory food trucks, and a beer garden at Crockett Park in Brentwood.

The day’s music lineup will begin with Brentwood resident, Connor Smith, kicking off the show at 3pm. The 18-year-old Brentwood Academy senior has been making waves among music insiders for the past two years previously opening for country acts like Sam Hunt, Kane Brown & Kip Moore. Smith’s summer tour includes the Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga among others.

“I couldn’t be more excited to add a hometown stop to the summer tour. To get to do a full show ten minutes from my house during a crazy summer ahead is going to be awesome,” Smith said. “I played baseball, soccer, and Blaze football on the fields at Crockett Park, and have also grown up seeing the summer concerts at the Eddy Arnold Amphitheater. I’m pumped to get up there and play for everyone,” Smith added.

The Guilty Pleasures Band will take the stage from 4-6pm. The 80s tribute band will take festival goers back to a time when hair was big, and the music was crazy. Their song list includes everything from Margaritaville, to Jack and Diane, to Ring of Fire to name a few. They are followed by a rock and roll piano pair from 6-7pm. Cruizin Keys has performed at countless events. From keeping the dancefloor packed at wedding receptions to donating thousands of dollars of tips back to fundraising events, Cruizin Keys is based out of Nashville and will accept your favorite song requests for the full hour.

Tim Akers and the Smoking Section will be the headlining act taking the stage at 7pm.

Tim Akers is a keyboard player and the band leader for Tim Akers and The Smoking Section. The songwriter, arranger and producer lives in Nashville and his studio session work has landed him on recordings for Kid Rock, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Faith Hill, Keith Urban, Megadeth, Michael Bolton, Rascal Flatts, SHeDAISY, Jewel, LeAnn Rimes, Trace Adkins, Glen Campbell, Barry Manilow, actor Jeff Bridges, Pam Tillis, Patti LaBelle, Joss Stone, Wynonna, Josh Gracin (of American Idol fame), and many others. He has also performed on movie soundtracks.

“We are SO EXCITED to play BrentFest! We hope you join us in celebrating Brentwood’s 50th birthday while we play all the funkiest, danciest music you’ve ever heard! We will throw down some Earth, Wind, & Fire, Donna Summer, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, and a whole lot more! Bring your dancin’ shoes, because we don’t play no slow songs,” said Tim Akers.
