The Downtown Franklin Rotary Club (DFRC) is hosting its primary fundraiser, the Jockeys & Juleps Kentucky Derby Party presented by Raymond James, at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm on Saturday, May 4 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit local charities.

Partygoers dressed up in Derby attire will enjoy live Run for the Roses coverage on a 16-foot LED screen, partake in great Derby fare and specialty drinks, beer and wine; and complete the evening with dancing to the Pink Cadillac band. In addition, there will be auctions, wine pulls, bourbon tastings and best-dressed awards. Tickets are $125 each – which include all food and beverages – and can be purchased at www.franklinjockeysandjuleps.com.

“Last year, despite a rainy day, we had more than 450 revelers enjoying the Derby and all of the fun activities,” said Lorrie Graves, DFRC President, and event co-chair. “The event this year will be bigger and better than ever with great food and drink, fantastic music and, of course, the most exciting two minutes in sports. This is truly Williamson County’s premier Kentucky Derby party.”

In addition to Graves, other co-chairs include DFRC members Jill Luna and Kathy Reynolds. The event is being coordinated by Big Events Inc. and will be held under an equestrian-themed tent next to the main barn at Harlinsdale. It will feature multiple bars and food stations with valet parking, sponsored by Lyons Chevrolet Buick GMC, complementary for all attendees. Brindiamo Group and Moon Wine & Spirits have partnered to provide the wine, beer, Derby-inspired drinks and a special bourbon tasting bar.

Franklin-based SpringTree Media Group is providing the LED wall and other large screen tvs throughout the venue so race enthusiasts can watch the Run for the Roses at 5:50 p.m.

Funds raised through Jockeys & Juleps will be distributed to local charities through the Downtown Franklin Rotary Foundation. Past beneficiaries have included My Friend’s House, the NEST Project and Friends of Franklin Parks. The 2019 event is being presented in cooperation of Franklin Tomorrow, Inc., a registered 501(c)3 status organization.

Raymond James is the Secretariat Presenting Sponsor of Jockeys & Juleps. Lyons Chevrolet Buick GMC is the Justify Platinum Sponsor and Storage Systems Unlimited is the Genuine Risk Gold Sponsor. Smarty Jones Silver Sponsors include Luna Custom Homes, Tennessee Equine Hospital, AMI Marketing, Harpeth True Value and Chick-fil-A South Franklin.
